Remember how, a few months ago, we told you about the genesis of the Kimood and Kariwala partnership?
An ambitious Franco-Indian project, led by Matteo Borri (Brand Manager for KARIBAN BRANDS) and the Kariwala plant in Calcutta. The raison d’être of this alliance? Shared values based on ethics and eco-friendliness which gave rise to the Conscious by Kimood collection … and many other great initiatives!
Being committed to a more responsible and sustainable world is one of our priorities at TopTex, as well as at KARIBAN BRANDS.
In this context, CSR is at the heart of our concerns. So, as soon as possible, we optimise our production and distribution processes (with the K-Loop project, for example), ensure that our products are manufactured in accordance with the rights of workers (particularly in Kariwala), and use sustainable materials (such as in-conversion cotton).
Today, we want to tell you more about what we do to promote local distribution channels. More and more, we’re trying to produce in Europe and to offer you partner brands that are just as involved in the future of textiles.
Do you remember: in this article, we told you about the K-loop project, initiated by Matteo Borri. What were the ambitions behind this project? To promote the circular economy by reusing fabric scraps, combined with recycled materials, while providing maximum transparency throughout the production process.
Annual emissions by the textile industry
amount to 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases. Raw materials, soils, water: unsound resource management has alarming repercussions for the environment. Not to mention the fact that, in this sector, fundamental workers’ rights are not always respected.
