A unique back-to-school experience

For a memorable start to school, customising clothes or accessories makes perfect sense.

For example, a small KIMOOD drawstring bag, available in soft colourways, can be screen-printed with an animal. A bear for the start of nursery school or a cat for the start of first grade.

The little extra: add the child’s initials!

In short, with a little creativity, it’s easy to create a perfectly unique outfit or accessories for your child.

Creating beautiful memories

Customisation is also all the rage for baby clothes. Especially as these items will become treasured keepsakes! Pretty pyjamas embroidered with baby’s initials and zodiac sign, or a bib decorated with a quote… The options are endless.

More and more online clothing shops are offering customised ready-to-wear for babies and kids. Think about offering them references to add to their catalogue of timeless, mixed and good-quality designs .

Take your pick from Kariban’s new baby products: sweatshirt, trousers and baby grow designed in sustainable materials (organic cotton and recycled polyester), for 100% eco-friendly baby clothes!

For sports clubs

Did you know that two thirds of young people aged between 12 and 17 play a sport outside of the PE lessons given at school? And half of them belong to a sports club.

That’s why so many brands, shops and e-commerce sites offer to flock kids sportswear. At TopTex, the PROACT® brand has also thought about kids, with sportswear specially designed for them. Sweatshirts, rugby shirts, polo shirts, bibs and even socks – everything you need to dress young athletes from head to toe!

For high-impact goodies

Customisable accessories or goodies are particularly appropriate and effective for events organised for kids!

For example, a kids playground that organises birthday parties would be delighted to offer souvenir caps or t-shirts as an option.

Fun motifs, illustrations of characters from cartoons or video games, amusing linguistic expressions – after all, it’s all about being inventive, in tune with the times and creating emotions.

The choice of material for kids and babies’ clothing

When it comes to selecting clothes for kids and babies, one of the most important criteria is the material.

Their sensitive skin can react more easily than that of adults. Of course, natural materials, such as cotton or linen, are the most suitable, especially for the youngest (infants, babies and very young children).

To select models suitable for even the most sensitive skin, look for textile certifications such as Oeko-Tex, GOTS, OCS or organic cotton. These labels are a guarantee of quality and safety.

Of course, while the material is essential, other aspects are just as important, such as comfortresistance to repeated washing and tearing, and bright colours that stay that way … take a look at our eco-responsible section to find references that combine quality, durability, ethics and certified materials.

A few tips for customising kids items

Once you’ve made your selection and approved the blank garment styles, you can finally decide which branding technique to choose. Here are a few suggestions:

  • Embroidery, for its premium, hard-wearing feel, is perfect for thick fabrics like sweatshirts or beanies.

  • Screen printing is a low-cost method of printing large quantities, which can also be used on most fabrics and items: caps, t-shirts, bags, etc.

  • DTG, or Direct To Garment, printing on fabrics containing at least 70% cotton. A very interesting technique that uses no water and is compatible with biodegradable inks. Ideal for 100% eco-friendly textile customisation!

Whichever textile marking technique you use, remember to recommend that your customers take good care of their designs and colours to ensure they last. The basics: wash and iron inside out, spin at low speed and air dry.

With all these examples and advice on how to customise kids clothing, you’ll be ready to offer your customers this interesting option.
