We like it to be technical, comfortable and durable as well as unifying and stylish: why not find out a little more about customisable sportswear?

Of course, when we think of flocked sportswear, we often think first and foremost of sports clubs. We imagine a team with shirts featuring a name and number, or sports bags featuring the club’s colours or emblem.

But there’s more to customisable sportswear than that! It can make an excellent gift for customers, employees or prospects, creating a lasting impression and raising a brand’s profile.

It creates solidarity between members of a sports association, can be sold in a shop and is sometimes even worn away from sporting activities, thanks to the Sportswear trend.

Football, rugby, tennis, cycling, fitness: there are hundreds of different sports. What do they have in common? Those who practise them need to be comfortable, able to move freely and be properly covered and protected when necessary. Add performance, technical features, easy care and decoration access and you’ve got everything you need in a good piece of sportswear! We’re going to explore this in more detail by introducing you to the PROACT® brand by KARIBAN BRANDS, designed with athletes in mind.

Team sports: which clothing is best?

This could be football, rugby, basketball or volleyball. Put simply, these are team sports where cohesion and a sense of belonging to a club play a key role.

Some sports are played outdoors, such as football and rugby. Depending on the weather, players can opt for a decorated short-sleeved polo shirt or a long-sleeved shirt. Don’t forget rain sweatshirts and second-skin t-shirts, which will protect players in cold and wet weather. The same goes for the lower body: shorts or trousers can be complemented with non-slip socks.

Individual sports: a few essentials

Now it’s time for sports practised alone but for which decorated clothing is just as important.

Take running, for example. This is a popular and widely practised sport, all year round. Runners often wear training tights to reduce friction, and will particularly appreciate a technical t-shirt made from TopCool® polyester fibres in flashy colours. It’s a great way to wick away moisture and stay dry, while still being visible when you’re out running. And for the cooler months, a comfortable sweatshirt is ideal! The PROACT® PA360 model is very easy to decorate thanks to its smooth surface.

For fitness sessions, an adjustable seamless sports bra provides support and comfort, while a tank top or sleeveless t-shirt in pre-shrunk Ring-Spun cotton is particularly soft and supple and designed to shrink as little as possible in the wash. It can even be flocked with the colours of a sports centre or gym, turning members into real ambassadors!

TopTex tip

For companies, this is THE gift that’s sure to please: invite your teams to take part in a charity race, and give them sports t-shirts decorated with the company logo. It’s a lovely memory that will also keep the company’s image alive, even after the race!

Other examples of customisable sportswear

Tennis, padel tennis, swimming, cycling: some sports require more specific attire or have ‘codes’ that must be respected.

In padel tennis, for example, the elegant skort or Two-tone T-shirt in polyester and elastane.

PROACT® has designed a complete range of clothing for this popular sport. Think skirts, leggings, shorts and t-shirts to create matching outfits in materials that are easy to decorate with a logo or first name.

Obviously, for swimmers, good swimwear is essential, and even better if it has UV protection and an area large enough to be decorated with a swimming club logo!

Sport means technical and comfortable!

Soft, supple and comfortable materials

If a t-shirt contains elastane, for example, it will be more elasticated and tear-resistant. Cotton is soft and comfortable, easy to care for and absorbs moisture without releasing it. Cotton is recommended for intensive but short sessions to avoid that ‘wet’ feeling. Polyester, on the other hand, has hydrophobic fibres that repel moisture, reducing drying time.

Some models are labelled “Triblend” and made from three materials, combining the benefits of each: cotton for comfort, polyester for durability and viscose for impeccable drape.

Fabrics designed to keep you dry

Sport means perspiration: fortunately, there are technologies out there that help fibres to dry faster or ‘repel’ sweat, boosting comfort during exercise.

This is the case with COOLMAX® or COOLPLUS® fibres whose special cross-section regulates body temperature and wicks away moisture to the outer layer of the fabric, where it evaporates and leaves the wearer dry.

Efficient processes for sustainable clothing

Other techniques can be used to create strong, durable textiles, such as an anti-pilling treatment which prevents bobbles from forming on the surface of the fabric, and LSF (Low Shrinkage Fleece) which pre-shrinks the fabric to minimise the risk of shrinkage or deformation during washing.

Useful, high-performance accessories

Caps, sports bags, sports towels, bibs, flags and even balls – customisable sports accessories are key pieces of sports equipment! What’s more, they should inspire you to come up with striking promotional items. Find out more here:

How do you decorate sportswear?

Caps, leggings, shirts, beanies, gym bags, towels: all sporting goods can be decorated with the image of a brand or sponsor, a player’s first name or the date and name of an event!

As always, when selecting the best marking technique, the material and colour of the product, and the complexity of the motif to be printed will have to be taken into account.

  • Want to provide decorated football shirts for team supporters? If they’re light-coloured and made mainly of polyester, sublimation is the perfect choice! This will resist sweat and washing and be perfect even for complex, gradient or very colourful patterns.
  • To decorate a polo shirt for tennis players, golfers or a rugby team, think embroidery! Although more expensive, it offers a particularly refined finish which will also resist washing, even at 90°.
  • And if you want to offer a decorated microfibre towel to members of a gym club, screen-printing will keep costs down, especially on large runs.

As a general rule, decorated products should be washed inside out, where possible, and tumble-drying is not generally recommended. By following the instructions indicated by the manufacturer on each product, the materials and designs will last over time, even with intensive use!

Created in 2009, PROACT® is rooted in rugby. Precision, team spirit, technical skill and performance, the values of this sport have guided and inspired the brand for more than 10 years.

Over the years, PROACT® has expanded and diversified its range, innovated and perfected its production processes to offer high-quality technical clothing to all athletes, fans and professionals.

The brand is now developing its multi-sport range with a focus on a wide variety of colours, styles and materials for both individual sports (tennis, swimming, running, fitness, etc.) and team sports (football, basketball, rugby, etc.).

For team sports, the Line range combines technical features, graphic designs and vibrant colours. With unisex and even junior pieces, the Line collection covers all player needs: training, pre-match, match and even post-match attire.

Its little extra? The contrasting stripe makes the printed motifs stand out for even greater visibility on the pitch!

If you’re looking for breathable polyester t-shirts in vibrant colours, the Birdseye collection is for you. The mesh on these products is specially designed to wick away perspiration. Thanks to Quick Dry technology, the fibres dry fast, keeping all athletes dry during exercise.

Sleeveless, long-sleeved, crew-necked or V-necked, the Birdseye collection even features models in 100% recycled polyester, allowing you to reuse up to six 1.5L plastic bottles!

The Fleece collection offers comfortable, fashionable and casual sportswear to wear during, after or even away from sporting activities.

Complete outfits made up of jogging suits, tracksuits, sweatshirts, Bermuda shorts and t-shirts in incomparably soft Triblend or polycotton. A comfortable, casual look for adults and kids.
